*Irish Water Spaniel*



*The Irish Water Spaniel is an unusual looking dog with a curly coat, topknot of loose curls down its forehead and a ratlike tail.

*Origin: Ireland.

*Description:
Rugged endurance...sometimes timid...clownish appearance...loyal to familiar people, but forbidding to strangers, alert.


*Behavior:
Behavior problems may include fear biting, irritable snapping, shyness as a result of excessive dominance and fear, barking at slight noises, and a tendency to drool.

*Compatible with children: Only recommended with proper training and socialization.

 *The Sussex Spaniel, like the Clumber, has shorter legs and a longer body than most other spaniels, which makes it slow but sturdy in the field.

*Origin: England

*Description:
Friendly...bold...slow mover...calmer than most cockers.

*Behavior:
Behavior problems may include house soiling and howling and a slight possibility of a sudden but short-lived aggressive outburst usually leading to a growl and snap, but not a bite, if the dog is pushed or annoyed too much.

*Compatible with children: Yes.
