*The American Water Spaniel breed, a competent retriever, has a tightly curled coat. It is a strong swimmer, the oil content of its coat giving it a water-proof quality.

Eager...thorough...friendly...intelligent...willing to please...very protective of its owner.

*Behavior:
Behavior problems may include roaming, barking, whining, and irritable snapping. Certain specimens may drool, snore and have a strong coat odor. Fear biting may pose a problem if the dog has had harsh training.

*Compatible with children: Yes...use discretion...when startled or harshly punished they are prone to snap defensively.

*The Brittany Spaniel breed is larger and has longer legs than the water spaniels, with a distinctive coat of white and dark orange primarily bred for bird hunting.

*Clumber Spaniel*



 *The Clumber Spaniel breed is the heaviest of all the spaniels, looking like a combination of a silky-coated spaniel and a Basset Hound with its long, low body. The Clumber was bred to run through bushes with their big heads and thick, but soft coat.
