*The St. Bernard breed is a very large dog originally developed as an Alpine rescue dog.

Itlay / Switzerland.

St. Bernhardshund...Bernhardiner...Alpine Mastiff...Saint Bernard.

*Description: Gentle...friendly...very tolerant of children...patient...obedient...loyal...wants to please.


*Behavior: Behavior problems may include stealing food from table and counter tops, may exert dominance, sometimes willful disobedience

*Compatible with children: Yes...but,
because the St Bernard is so large, it should be socialized very well at a young age with children as well as adults.

*The Samoyed (pronounced SAM-aw-yed) breed is a medium sized sled and draft dog with a longish, thick coat, usually all white or light tan, and a mane around its neck.

 *The Shetland Sheepdog looks like a miniature Rough Collie and is the lightest of working breeds.

*Description: Affectionate...intensely loyal...devoted...willing to obey with little or no lessons needed.


*Behavior: Behavior problems may include excessive, continuous barking, stealing food from table and counter tops, timidity, phobias, touch shyness, fear biting and possibly irritable snapping. They should be highly socialized and introduced early and exposed to the strange sounds of city life to minimize timidity and barking in that environment.

Yes...but, they do better with children if they are raised with them from an early age.
