*The Afghan Hound breed was developed to hunt gazelles, leopards, and rabbits. It is a medium to large sized coursing dog easily recognizable by its very long, silky, flowing hair and aristocratic appearance.

*Behavior: Behavior problems may include sharp-shyness that leads to fear biting and irritable snapping, house soiling, picky eater, and stubbornness. The owner of an Afghan should also expect to spend considerable time grooming this dog.

*Basenji*



*The Basenji (pronounced Buh-SEN-jee) breed is an African hunting dog about the size of a Fox Terrier. It has the unique properties of not barking (it makes a low, liquid wail instead) and of cleaning itself like a cat.

*Description: Sprite...alert...stubborn...speedy...frisky...tireless at play...anxious to please...obedient.

 *The Basset Hound breed is a medium sized hound in weight, but its short, stocky legs give it a low-slung, heavy-boned appearance that is heightened by its "sad" and "droopy" expression.
